Technology Facilitator Details

District Technology Facilitator / Data Management Specialist (1998 - 2000)

Supervisor: District Technology Coordinator Michael Andrews

 

Duties: Coordinated and implemented the integration and use of technology in the educational and administrative environment of St. Johns Public Schools. Promoted increased expertise in the use of technology and facilitated a reduction in administrative overhead associated with reporting and disseminating information.

 

  • Coordinated all aspects of a district-wide, hands-on technology training program of more than 67 sessions for over 250 educators and staff. This required a team of 27 instructors and assistants at a budget in excess of $30,000 dollars. 

 

  • Collaborated with a professional team of educators to develop course curriculum for learning sessions. Was responsible for coordination and scheduling all trainers, assistants, participants, facilities and supplies within the budget.  July 1999 to December 2000.

  • Coordinated more than 20 training sessions through Midwest Education Group (MEG) for all staff members using the student database system (SASI). Provided support and additional training as needed for the student database system, membership reporting, and student immunization programs.  July 1998 to Spring 2001.

  • Coordinated preparation, installation and training of district wide telephone/ voice mail systems with ITI. Coordinated the installation of 10 PBX telephone systems, over 420 telephones, and coordinated training for over 230 individuals.  Also was responsible for the configuration and programming of over 1,050 voice mail and extension systems. October 1998 to March 1999.

  • Collaborated with the administrative team to develop a district prioritization process for addressing technology support needs prior to the implementation of Track-It Software. Identified and documented technology problems throughout the district and provided weekly communication to 10 different buildings regarding tasks outstanding and accomplished.

  • Collaborated with elementary building representatives testing elementary software. Provided support to buildings once programs became available.

​

  • Provided one-to-one and small group assistance and building hands-on technology training sessions to support the use of various elementary software programs, e-mail, laptop computers, and the Classroom XP pilot program for St. Johns High School.

​

  • Disseminated information throughout the district via e-mail.

​

  • Served as a member of the District Technology Advisory Team (DTAT).

​

  • Co-facilitated the SASI Special Interest Group (SASI SIG).
